HISTORIC STATUS:

SYNOPSIS:

  • Plot *spoilers* contained in this post and this post
  • Long Synopsis from Wild Bunch *Spoiler Alert*
  • Pandora Film:  Deep space. Beyond our solar system. Monte and his infant daughter Willow live together aboard a spacecraft, in complete isolation. A solitary man, whose strict self-discipline is a protection against desire – his own and that of others. He was member of a crew of prisoners: space convicts, death row inmates. Guinea pigs sent on a mission to the black hole closest to Earth. Together, alone, father and daughter approach their destination – the black hole in which all time and space cease to exist.
  • TIFF:  The destination is the black hole within closest reach of Earth. Most of the spaceship’s crew is kept in suspended animation, maybe because they’re a collection of dangerous prisoners, last-chancers with nothing left to lose. At first Monte (Robert Pattinson) is the only crew member awake, rigorously tending to the ship to keep them all alive as they hurtle through space. But Monte is also caring for a baby daughter, born on board. This anomaly is only the first sign of the chaos to come. As Monte’s self-discipline slips, the crew awakens and conflicts erupt.
