Why, you ask? Well, it's simple. You're bringing all of Hollywood's biggest names together under one roof to honor and celebrate their work, which also means that you're bringing together a lot of former lovers under one roof and forcing them to clap and smile and cheer on their ex.
It can get a little weird. And such was the case tonight at the Hollywood Film Awards, which reunited exes Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. But they weren't alone. Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were also there, too!
The awards show, which was televised for the first time tonight and hosted by Queen Latifah, honored the work of many notable names (but unlike other shows, these stars already knew they were getting the award. No nominees here).
Both R.Pattz and K.Stew attended to present the awards, but it didn't seem like they crossed paths. An eyewitness tells us Kristen was sitting at her table inside, but was outside the ballroom during Pattinson's time onstage.
J.Lo was also a presenter tonight, and fumbled a little bit with her words (it was so cute). Looking absolutely stunning as always, she got a little tongue-tied when presenting an award for How to Train Your Dragon (or How to Drain Your Dragon), but giggled her way through it.
Affleck, who Lopez referred to as her first big heartbreak in her new book True Love, was present to support his film Gone Girl. Author and screenplay writer Gillian Flynn was given the Hollywood Screenwriter Award, and adorably mentioned how they shouldn't put a writer in heels and make them walk up stairs. LOL!
