WATCH: Robert Pattinson Goes Shirtless In First Scenes From The Rover
Robert Pattinson was busy shooting back to back movies last year, meaning fans haven't seen him on the big screen since the final Twilight Saga installment in 2012. Thankfully for Rob fans, the first glimpse of his brand new movie The Rover have been unveiled.
This time last year the British actor was in the Australian outback filming the movie that tells the tale of loner Eric (Guy Pearce) who tracks the gang who stole his car from a desolate town, forcing Pattinson's wounded gang member to help him after he was left behind in the wake of the theft.

David Michod, the director of the movie has teased fans with some on set videos of Rob, with the filmmaker gushing about his talented leading man. In the footage, posted on the movie's Instagram account, David is heard saying:
“I knew that I wanted to see him. And we looked at quite a few people and a number of, you know, quite big names, and sure enough Rob came in and just straight away was my favorite.”
According to David, a lot of this had to do with Rob’s chemistry with his other lead, Guy. “I wanted the character to be a guy who remembered a time when things were different,” he continues. “When I then started thinking about that I really then started thinking about Guy.”
The short videos contain footage of Rob shooting scenes, including one tense moment where the Brit is topless with a gun to his head.

The Twilight star has been busy building on his movie career over the past year, also wrapping Maps to the Stars opposite Julianne Moore and Mia Wasikowska.
Rob is currently in Morocco shooting Queen of the Desert with a host of big names including Nicole Kidman, James Franco and fellow Brit Damian Lewis.
The Rover is due to hit cinemas later this year.
